ABHC CURRENT STUDIES

At ABHC we believe strongly in the importance of conducting research. This is a vital step in learning more about the nature of anxiety with the ultimate hope that this knowledge will reduce the suffering created by anxiety.

Being treated at our clinic will involve a reciprocal and mutually beneficial relationship. Individuals coming to the clinic are co-investigators. We learn from our patients just as they learn from us. Our current, on-going research studies are described below.

Please email us or call at 850 / 645-1766 if you are interested in any of these studies, or if you have questions. You can also complete our simple and completely confidential recruitment form

CURRENT STUDIES

STAMP
SMOKING TREATMENT & ANXIETY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

Smoking remains a leading preventable cause of death and disability in the United States. Recent research has also suggested that it acts as a risk factor in the development of panic and related anxiety disorders.

In collaboration with researchers from the University of Vermont, we are conducting a brief smoking cessation and anxiety management treatment. The intervention is free for eligible participants and involves four individualized sessions with a trained therapist.

If you are eighteen years old or older, a regular smoker, and interested in quitting, please complete the online recruitment form or contact us for more information on the STAMP study.

MAP
MULTI-SITE AUTO-INFORMATION PROCESSING STUDY

This research investigation is helping us understand different information processing styles and mechanisms that play a role in anxiety. The findings have the potential of helping us develop innovative treatment strategies for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Social Anxiety Disorder.

Participate now in this exciting opportunity to help science move forward. Receive a free anxiety screening, along with treatment referral information. If eligible for the study, participants will also be compensated with $40 and participate in a $50 Best-Buy gift certificate raffle. Please complete the online recruitment form or contact us for more information on the MAP study.
